Home charging
A home EV charger on the Loirston side or in Kincorth
A charger needs private off street parking: a driveway, a garage or a space that belongs to the house. Newer homes toward the loch usually have one. Many estate houses park on the street, and Aberdeen City Council's EV charging FAQ currently says a charging cable cannot run across a public pavement, so check with the council first.
- From £900 + VAT for an entry 7.4kW smart unit with up to 15 metres of cable
- From £995 + VAT for an Ohme Home Pro or TeltoCharge with tariff control in the app
- From £1,195 + VAT for a Hypervolt Home 3 Pro or myenergi Zappi that can use surplus solar
Before you book, check whether the builder fitted a charger or left a supply ready, because it changes the price. Longer cable runs and any earthing or board work are quoted after the survey. Every charger we fit is smart, as the law requires, and solar ready, so it can charge from your own panels when you add them.
Rent your home, or own a flat with its own parking space? The government chargepoint grant is currently £500 per socket for renters and flat owners, with the landlord's or freeholder's permission. It is not open to a homeowner with a driveway. Steven holds City and Guilds 2921-34 and our OZEV reference is EVHS/WCS14254.
