If a site tells you your Fraserburgh rewire needs to be signed off under Part P, close the tab. Part P does not apply in Scotland. It is an England and Wales building regulation. - Interlinked alarms are the law here. Since February 2022 every Scottish home must have interlinked smoke alarms in the hall and main living room, a heat alarm in the kitchen, and a CO alarm where there is a fuel burning appliance. This is a Scottish requirement with no direct English equivalent.
- Landlords need a current EICR. Private rented property in Scotland requires an electrical safety inspection at least every five years, plus a PAT check on landlord supplied appliances.
- BS 7671 moved on in 2026. Amendment 4:2026 was published on 15 April 2026 and the previous version is withdrawn on 15 October 2026. From that date every new certificate has to be issued against Amendment 4. We are certifying to it now rather than waiting.
- Building warrants, and no Part P. A full rewire, a new circuit into an extension, or work in a bathroom may need a warrant. We tell you at survey whether yours does, and we do not pretend a warrant is needed when it is not.
Getting this wrong is not academic. A certificate referencing the wrong jurisdiction is worth very little to a solicitor during a sale, and it is the fastest way to spot an installer working from an English template.

Can you fit an EV charger and claim the grant for me?
Yes. We are an OZEV authorised installer, reference EVHS/WCS14254, and we apply on your behalf where you qualify. Since 1 April 2026 the chargepoint grant is up to £500 per socket at 75% of cost, funded to 31 March 2027, and it is for renters, flat owners and leaseholders with private off street parking.
