EICRs for owners and landlords
An inspection and test of the fixed wiring for a sale, a purchase or a let. Priced by the number of circuits, with the report issued digitally.
From £150 + VAT
NICEIC approved electricians for Fraserburgh and AB43, working from our Peterhead base. Fault finding is £80 to £150 + VAT for the first hour, an EICR starts at £150 + VAT, and most standard jobs are booked within 5 to 10 working days. Call 07304 027013 for a free survey and a fixed written price.
Faithful Spark Electricians looks after Fraserburgh from 17 Thomson Road, Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, AB42 3FJ. Our own team, led by Steven Watt with Callum working alongside him, carries out EICRs, consumer unit upgrades, rewires, EV chargers, solar and battery storage, fault finding and commercial work for harbour businesses. Every job is tested and certified to BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 under NICEIC enrolment 620239.
Most standard jobs go into the diary within 5 to 10 working days. Tenancy deadlines and remedial work after an EICR usually fit in within 2 to 5, and a genuine safety problem is seen the same day inside opening hours. After a free survey the fixed written price follows within one working day. We are open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm, so ring 07304 027013 and speak to us directly.
Each service has its own Fraserburgh page with local detail. Prices exclude VAT unless stated, and anything bigger than a small job gets a fixed written price after a free survey.

Clear price before any work starts
Free survey, a fixed written price within one working day of it, and no call out fee for quoting.
These are our own 2026 rates. Ask any firm you are comparing whether its figure includes VAT and whether it covers the whole job.
Repairs and small jobs get a clear price before any work starts, and the first hour of fault finding is £80 to £150 + VAT. Work we agree in advance outside opening hours is priced when you book.
Anything we can survey first gets a fixed price: a board change, a rewire, an EV charger. Repairs that cannot be scoped until we are on site are priced once we have found the cause, before we start the repair. If we find a new fault part way through a fixed price job, you hear the cost before we touch it.
| Job in Fraserburgh | Guide price | What moves it |
|---|---|---|
| Fault finding, first hour | £80 to £150 + VAT | How quickly the fault can be traced. The repair is priced before we start it. |
| Emergency call out, first hour included | £150 to £250 + VAT | The work needed to make the installation safe. |
| Domestic EICR | From £150 + VAT | Covers the main board and first 5 circuits. Extra circuits and extra boards are charged on top. |
| Consumer unit upgrade | £550 to £950 + VAT | Circuit count, surge protection and anything found behind the old board. |
| Smart home EV charger, 7.4kW | £900 to £1,300 + VAT | Charger model and the length of the cable run. |
| Rewire, two bed flat | £3,500 to £7,000 + VAT | Access, floor coverings and whether it is a full or partial rewire. |
| Rewire, three bed semi | £5,000 to £10,000 + VAT | Wall construction, room count and any outbuildings. |
| Rewire, four bed detached | £7,000 to £14,000 + VAT | Size of the house. Granite houses are quoted after a survey. |
Four things shape most jobs in the town, and each one changes what we recommend and how we price it.
Fraserburgh takes the weather straight off the sea, and salt air attacks outside electrics far faster than cable inside a dry wall. Meter boxes, outdoor sockets, isolators, cable glands and outside lights corrode first. On seafront addresses we fit coastal grade fittings as standard, and we look hard at every outside part on an inspection.
A solid granite wall has no cavity, so every concealed cable route is planned before anyone cuts into stone, and surface trunking is the answer where a wall is worth keeping. The post war housing around Kirkton and Broadsea is a different job again. We survey each house on what is actually in it.
Plenty of town centre homes are flats in shared buildings, some above shops. Your own flat's wiring and consumer unit belong to the owner or landlord and get their own EICR, while the shared stair lighting and supply are a matter for all the owners. We test yours and flag anything shared in writing. Landlords and HMO owners can book two or three nearby properties for the same day.
Fish processing halls, cold stores, wash down areas, chandlers and harbour offices are wet, salty, high load places to wire. We carry out commercial EICRs, three phase work and planned maintenance, quoted once we have seen the boards. Small commercial EICRs start at £300 + VAT.

We have no shop to visit. We are a van based team that comes to your property from Peterhead, and a job runs the same way whether it is one socket or a whole house.
Phone, WhatsApp or the form. We come back the same business day.
For anything beyond a small job we look at the property first. There is no call out fee for a quote.
The price you agree is the price you pay, and any new fault found part way through is quoted before we touch it.
The work is tested and certified to BS 7671:2018+A4:2026 under NICEIC enrolment 620239, with the paperwork issued digitally the same week.

“Really impressed with Faithful Spark's service. Happy to “go the extra mile”. Professional and courteous. Quick response to call out when we had a lighting issue in the church I look after.”
“He came to our flat last minute in the middle of a very cold start to winter to fix our broken heaters. He walked us through everything he was checking, explained what he found and was incredibly thorough the whole time.”
The people who price your job are the people who do it. Open Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm.
Three questions Fraserburgh households ask before they let an electrician in, each answered with a source you can check yourself.
Start from a register rather than a search result. The NICEIC tradesperson search and the Electrical Safety First registered electrician search list firms assessed by a scheme provider. Then ask for the company number, a public liability certificate and the name of whoever is coming. Ours are company SC821028, £2M public liability and our own team, and we are happy to be checked before you book.
The word approved is used for two different things. Approved Electrician is an industry grade held by a person, above plain Electrician and shown on their ECS card. The Scottish Government's Repairing Standard guidance (Annex D3, D.61) lists that grade in the competence checklist for an electrician not covered by a scheme. NICEIC Approved Contractor is a firm level registration, where the business and its work are assessed against BS 7671 every year. We hold the second one, so ask any firm which they mean.
The law asks for a competent person and a certified installation, because a charger is a new circuit that BS 7671 covers in Section 722. For the government chargepoint grant, which is for renters and flat owners with private off street parking, the installer must be OZEV authorised. City and Guilds 2921-34 is the EV charging award to ask for. We are OZEV authorised under EVHS/WCS14254 and Steven Watt holds 2921-34. Packages from £900 + VAT are in the EV charger card above.
Fraserburgh falls under Aberdeenshire Council. Plenty of national advice is written for England, so these four points matter.
It is an England and Wales building regulation. A quote or certificate that mentions it for a Fraserburgh job was written for the wrong country. Work here follows the Scottish building standards.
Rewiring an existing house of up to two storeys needs no building warrant. A rewire in a flat or maisonette, or in a building of three storeys or more, does, and the owner applies to Aberdeenshire Council. We say at survey whether yours needs one and put the answer on the quote.
A private let needs an electrical safety inspection at least every five years, covering the fixed wiring and the appliances the landlord supplies. We keep track of the renewal date for you.
On a report under BS 7671:2018+A4:2026, only C1 and C2 make the result unsatisfactory. C3 and FI are advisory, although an FI in a rented home should still be investigated promptly. We explain each code in plain English and quote any remedial work separately.
Ask on the phone or at the survey. The answer goes on your written quote with the price.
We run Fraserburgh jobs from our Peterhead base, 17 Thomson Road, Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, AB42 3FJ.
Most addresses within about an hour of Peterhead carry no travel surcharge. In remote rural Aberdeenshire a small travel charge may apply. If it does, you are told the amount when you book, never after the work. Outside the town and its villages, see our page on electricians across Aberdeenshire or all areas we cover.
Steven Watt runs Faithful Spark Electricians. He started as a Royal Navy apprentice in 2001, founded the business in 2023 and incorporated Faithful Spark Electricians Ltd on 29 August 2024. Steven leads our own team, with Callum working alongside him. Your enquiry is not sold on to whichever firm happens to be nearest, and you know who is coming before you book.
Steven holds City and Guilds 2391-52 (inspection and testing), 2382-22 (the BS 7671 wiring regulations), 2365-03 (Level 3 electrical installations) and 2921-34 (EV charging installation). The business is NICEIC certified, TrustMark registered, an OZEV authorised installer and carries £2M public liability insurance. We are based in Peterhead rather than Fraserburgh, so we plan Fraserburgh work around the diary and tell you plainly when we can be there.
